'Wordless geometry' is part of a visual artistic investigation based on envelopes. Standing for everything that surrounds, but is not, words, their shape remind us about embodied communication, where presence, warmth and interaction play a key role in understanding and getting our point across. What are the effects of communicating through technology and being connected on a global scale? How does it affect local, small scale communication? Where does community dwell?

Catalina Renjifo is an artist that lives and works in Oxford. Using a research-based approach has led to an interest in artistic epistemologies: how an artist constructs and communicates knowledge through making and presenting artworks. Her practice involves diverse materials and outcomes, from textiles to metal, ceramics and to food. Artworks are clustered around themes, where each artwork attempts to answer a question.
