Zaira Ahmad was born in 1974, a graduate from National College of Arts majored in Printmaking. She has exhibited extensively across Pakistan, UAE, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, U.K, China and North America. She dedicated her towards art education since she graduated in 1999, exemplified by student exhibitions, workshops and projects. In 2013 Zaira Ahmad was selected among the five artists to attend Pakistani Artist Residency in China. ‘Zaira Zaka Studio Residencies’ program is established in 2013 by Zaira Ahmad to promote the medium of printmaking. Through cross cultural exchange programs artists are invited from different countries. In 2013, 2014 & 2016 three successful residency programs held at ‘Zaira Zaka Studio residencies’ included artists from Nepal, UK, Netherland and Pakistan followed by their work exhibition in Islamabad. The work later travel for various exhibitions in Pakistan and abroad.
Zaira’s works are in permanent collection of ‘Art Works’ Dubai, Civil Aviation Department Dubai Airport, China Cultural Ministry Beijing, Pakistan National Council of Arts and various private collections. In 2010 she co-created ‘Educate-One’ that supports the education of many and is based upon the idea that ‘No child is left behind’.
